12 hours to go

We're 60 miles outside of Washington. The Appalachians were nasty in
West Virginia. While the peaks weren't as high as the Rockies, there
were 9 - 9.5% inclines, which was equally as intense as the Rockies.

I'm sorry about not posting in awhile, cell service is lacking in West
Virginia, and I've been busy. Doing what, I'm not sure. Things just
happen here on Coast to Coast, and you forget about things quite
quickly. It's quite a trip, literally and figuratively. We met with a
reporter this morning in Winchester, Va, and we recounted some of our
experiences, from early in the trip and more recent experiences.

D.C. should be interesting to get everyone through it quickly and
efficiently. We're going to be going through the metropolitan area at
a very busy times. We'll get through it alright, but it is going to be
a little hairy at times, without a doubt because the runners will most
likely be passing through the city faster than the vehicles.

I think the ride back to Rochester late tonight is going to be a long,
sleepy ride.

Finally, on the last day, the Conn. media chimes in. I mentioned Lugie in the press release, but this is the Stratford correspondent, so he focused on Bert and Sanford. Friday night I tried to lay a guilt trip on the Conn. Post, but apparently they did the interview Friday afternoon.

Todd, if any lobbyists get in your way in DC, don't waste your brakes.

Eric we tried to find you in Arlinton Cemetary and you had to run right by and thru the DC while we were stuck in a traffic jam. We took pictures of Uncle Charles Dobson's grave site for you and you will just have to go back some other day. I hope you liked the special socks we found for you in Georgetown while we were finding our way to the runners. Route 50 is not an easy road through DC and I am amazed you got thru it without getting lost. I hoped it was easier on foot than in a car! We were there with you on those last miles and I am so glad we could be there to watch you finish and jump in the cold water! There was so much energy and excitement that one could never capture in a written piece the full energy of it. What a truly incredible experience! We are proud of you! Thank you for sharing it with us! Sleep well. We will see you soon!
