There just aren't words to express the pride, awe and excitement for you RIT runners! (And drivers, too!) The BLOG - pics and commentary - allows us to share a small portion of your incredible journey. Even that tiny bit is a thrill! Can't wait to see you when you get back.

I'm fairly certain that the last time an RIT cross country team ran under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis was just prior to the 1988 NCAA Div III Championships. The team left a definite impression on folks looking down from atop the arch. (There's even video to prove it.)

As much fun as that was, it pales in comparison to the fun it looks like you folks are having.

We are Chad's parents and plan to meet the team in Arlington and follow along to Annapolis. We wondered if any other parents will be there to meet the team. Contact me at cjbyler1@aol.com

Down to counting hours. I bet you all are so glad it's nearly over, and yet wishing it wasn't coming to an end. Depending on the moment...
To the parents that are going to meet the team - I am so jealous! Wish I could be there, too, to see the completion of this incredible journey! I'm sure you will let them know how proud ALL the parents are of their extraordinay achievement!
See you back in Rochester. Soon.

Andrew Varble - your Grandmother went from Quantico Virginia by Taxi on April 3, 1943 to Manassas and purchased a Marriage liscense. The wedding was that evening in the Quantico Chapel. Your trip is wonderful. Good luck to ALL the team until you are at Sandy Point.

Less than 24 hours, and it's all down hill from West Virginia! I think y'all will manage to break the previous record with ease ;-) Does it seem real yet, that you're about to break a world record???? Incredible!
Ditto on the being jealous of the people who will be at the finish line. I would love to be there to greet you guys at the end. I'll be cheering you on in spirit from here at CU, though, watching the clock.

I can't wait to hear all the stories when y'all rejoin 'civiliation'!

Awesome job -S

Today IS THE DAY ! Today, 11/29 is when our heros complete their "Odessey". I heard from Todd who anticipated being near DC by late afternoon and finally touching the Atlantic shore sometime tonight. RIT vans will be there to meet them. Are they ready for classes tomorrow?? Todd's Dad

They made it all possible: The "Silent Partner" behind all this is the RIT Administration who gave our kids the "Thumbs Up" for all of this. It was a whole lot more than saying OK. RIT funded it all. Air fare to San Diego; The 2 RV's and van; Food, supplies, advisors shuttled in and out; coordinating, etc., etc. It was especially RIT's confidence in these kids, the pride that these students would bring, not only to their families, but to the wider RIT community. The message is that, at RIT, the determination to succeed and make their communities proud goes follows into all areas of life. These students represent RIT. Thank you RIT Administration for your confidence ! Todd's Dad

As far as I am aware, they were not given the go ahead to run to Rochester, so they are getting bussed back once they reach the coast.

Congradulations!! What a great accomplishment. I hope everyone enjoyed the experience and had a great time. Think it wasn't too long ago you guys were all on a beach in San Deigo and now you are reaching the Atlantic Ocean. Thank you for sharing this experience with the rest of us as best you could through pictures and these writings.--Sherman
